PEOPLE

Anna Wang

Anna Wang is a strategic advisor, a business development executive and a global health expert with deep private sector, philanthropy, and non-profit experience.

Anna is a co-founder of Canary Global, a biotech start-up that is targeting the development of cures for rare pediatric diseases. Her experience with starts-ups began a dozen years ago when she began advising Atomo Diagnostics, where she helped to expand the company’s footprint in low- and middle-income countries. She was on the executive team that supported the public listing of the company on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2020.

For more than 15 years, Anna has also worked with the RS Group, a family office based in Hong Kong, helping it to shape its philanthropy portfolio and advance its “total portfolio approach” in managing all the principal’s investments. RS Group is now a leading voice in promoting impact investments globally.

For many years, Anna served as a senior advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Anna supported the foundation’s relationships with other funders, successfully advocated for new funding for global health, and provided advice on the foundation’s R&D strategy and advocacy activities.

Earlier, Anna was the Vice President for Public Affairs at the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV), a pioneering global health product development partnership. She helped to grow the organization from a 10-person start-up to a large, high-performing leader in global health R&D. At MMV, she was also instrumental in strengthening the ecosystem of PDPs through coalition building and joint international advocacy initiatives.

Based in New York, Anna is also the founder and director of a non-profit photography collective, Photographers for Hope, which aims to use the power of images to support positive social change. She serves on the board of several NGOs focused on girl’s empowerment and social justice.

We look forward to partnering with you.
