Erika Larson

A passionate social impact leader, Erika brings 15 years of experience in designing and executing innovative strategies to drive action on critical global challenges. With a proven track record in strategic advocacy, communications, partnership building, and project management, Erika excels in navigating complex environments to deliver innovative solutions.

In her recent role at the University of California, San Francisco, Erika designed and oversaw a high-profile global advocacy strategy and programming for the implementation of a $34M grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She provided leadership and vision to four portfolios and spearheaded special initiatives, including advocacy for The Lancet Commission on malaria eradication that resulted in the adoption of several recommendations by multilateral organizations. In addition to launching and expanding a novel advocacy approach in Asia and Africa that mobilized $2.5M in domestic financing for malaria, Erika also negotiated and led new country and regional level partnerships in Asia and Africa, creating lasting networks for policy and financing reform.

Previously, she worked at Frontline AIDS and Population Action International, where she advanced sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS advocacy and training. In these roles, she partnered with more than 20 organizations in Africa and Asia to ensure youth and underserved communities have a seat at the policymaking table.

As a consultant, Erika now combines her expertise and love of strategy and partnerships to make lasting social impact across a diverse portfolio. In addition to her day job, Erika is leveraging her skills in the climate sector and collaborating on the creation of North Carolina’s first climate tech innovation hub.

Erika received her MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a BA in Political Science from Davidson College. She is based in Durham, North Carolina.
