Patricia Atkinson, MBA, EMCC
Patricia has deep experience in the philanthropic and global development sectors. For more than 20 years, Patricia has served in increasingly responsible leadership roles in large philanthropies and health and social impact organizations.
She has held senior roles at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the IKEA Foundation, where she led its €200M annual grantmaking program. She has held senior roles at several leading global health non-profit organizations, including PATH, where she led commercialization activities for the development of malaria vaccines. She served on the executive team at Marie Stopes International and led the technical division that served nearly 40 country programs.
Patricia's sector experience includes global health (reproductive health and infectious diseases), climate (mitigation and adaptation), economic livelihoods, social entrepreneurship, renewable energy, and humanitarian and refugee livelihoods. Patricia has a successful track record building strategic philanthropic initiatives, including unique experience working at the convergence of corporate and philanthropic sectors and building social enterprises and public-private partnerships.
Patricia now combines her leadership experience in philanthropy, global health, and global development with coaching and leadership development. With this offering, Patricia supports leaders and teams in these sectors to develop their professional capacities and strengthen their ability to thrive in challenging and complex roles.
Patricia received a master’s in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in history and English with Honors from Stanford University. She received her coaching certification from London-based Meyler Campbell and is credentialled by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
Based in Europe, Patricia splits her time between the Netherlands and Spain.
